Dr. Robert Korwin: Implants

DrKorwinHeadshotDr. Robert Korwin began his career in implantology with a solid background in periodontal surgery from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, applying concepts of tooth preservation with an emphasis on both surgical and non-surgical techniques. There, he mastered the art and science behind a number of periodontal plastic surgery techniques: full flap, widman, osseous recontouring, free gingival grafting, lateral sliding flaps, palatal tissue harvesting and esthetic surgery. These are techniques few general dentists learn, techniques that Dr. Korwin frequently applies to his implant surgeries in order to ensure the best appearance and function after implants are placed.

At his practice in Middletown/Red Bank, New Jersey, Dr. Korwin offers single tooth replacements as well as implant supported bridges, full mouth tooth replacement with over dentures (using locator attachments), and hybrid bar and screw retained dentures. With current implant technology, past problems such as loose dentures need no longer exist. There are many new beautiful, comfortable options available for missing or failing teeth, and Dr. Korwin is proud to be a leader in providing strong, long lasting implant solutions.

Dr. Korwin is one of only .01% of dentists worldwide with Fellowships and Masterships from both the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the International College of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He is also certified in laser periodontal surgery by the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

While earning his Mastership from the AGD, Dr. Korwin perfected and taught a periodontal surgical technique to improve the appearance of implants used to replace missing front teeth.

His knowledge and initiative further led to a number of leadership positions with the New Jersey Academy of General Dentistry: he has served as Chairman of the Continuing Education program; Cochairman of the Master Track program; and Approval Chairman for the Provider program.

A leader in general dentistry, Dr. Korwin continuously seeks educational opportunities to further his knowledge of and proficiency with the latest dental procedures. To date, he has completed more than 2500 hours of classroom and hands-on training in continuing education, in a range of topics including implantology, oral surgery, surgical orthodontics, periodontal surgery; bone, tissue and sinus grafting; periodontal plastic surgery, mini implants, laser surgery, resorbable and non-resorbable membranes, sedation and suturing. He has completed courses from prestigious academies and professional groups such as The University of Pennsylvania, The Periodontal Institute, the New Jersey Academy of General Dentistry, St. Joseph’s Hospital and The American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry.

Dr. Korwin has had training with and uses implants from Nobel Biocare, a world leading company in dental implantology and aesthetic dental solutions; Zimmer Dental, a worldwide orthopedic leader; Implant Direct, a significant global implant company; and the ANKYLOS implant system from Dentsply Implants, a global provider.
